not really, there were calls before last night, as he is really improving with each game, just now that he bagged a pretty high profile brace everyone has noticed
If he carries on playing well theres no reason why he cant get back into the frame, we will need 4 strikers in germany, so if you take Owen, Rooney & Defoe as read then it's anyone of Darius, Bent or dare I say it Crouch

Based on current form, you've got to consider Bent ahead of Vassell.

Vassell - rubbish, Crouch - Rubbish 
Couldn't watch any of the football tonight but sounds like Crouch was ineffective and played poorly again.

Typical Chelsea - they let Betis outplay them in the first half and spent the second half frantically trying to get a goal. One Essien shot actually hit one post and rolled along the line before hitting the other post.
In Chelsea's defense, they played a typical English-style game (i.e. not rough, unless you're European) but the Betis players were diving all over the place. It was epidemic. You could see the exasperation on every Chelsea player's face. It was like playing football with porcelain dolls. Two of the Betis players had to be substituted for injuries (one after a non-challenge, the other fell on his own!)
And don't even get me started on the massive time wasting. The Betis keeper Never kicked the ball without being hurried by Drogba... in fact, he would dribble the ball around in his area until Drogba showed up
And when the ball went out for a Chelsea throw-in, strangely enough, there was never a ball boy to be found.
