Cocoon Club (Frankfurt) gone insolvent

We have been informed that the Frankfurt district / insolvency court has ordered the provisional insolvency administration of CocoonClub GmbH & Co. KG by resolution from 13th September 2012.


Here is our statement regarding this situation:

Cocoon Music Event GmbH and Cocoon Artist Booking UG are independent and separate companies, in substance as well as financially, economically and regarding the employed staff.

The situation at CocoonClub GmbH & Co. KG does not affect the business operations of Cocoon Music Event GmbH and Cocoon Artist Booking UG in any way.

CocoonClub GmbH & Co. KG is solely a licensee of the brand "Cocoon".

At CocoonClub GmbH & Co. KG, Sven Väth is just a partner who is holding a share of the GmbH. Furthermore, he is the visionary, ideas provider and advising musical curator behind the club concept, but he was never involved in any daily business operations.

Out of the wish to re-establish a trendy club of international format for electronic music in Frankfurt, Sven Väth has, together with other partners, decided to develop a club concept for the new millennium. The highly ambitious project, that has no equal world-wide, became an icon of modern clubbing in no time and has set standards and trends regarding design, sound and star-awarded cuisine.


We deeply regret the possible loss of jobs and strongly hope that the institution "CocoonClub" can be preserved for Frankfurt's nightlife.

the whole club is/was his "baby" and was built more or less around him .

another joke is that till now there is no official statement from väth
regarding frankfurt´s cocoonclub-situation :eek: :x :confused:

That "just a partner" BS is probably a convenient way of avoiding tax somewhere along the line, if each venture is run as a separate business.

I didn't think Sven actually updates his status on facebook, like Hawtin's status is updated by his "team" I assumed Sven's is the same.

the signs are not looking good for cocoonclub.

Unfortunately we weren't able to prevent the Cocoonclub
from finally closing down.

We are now planing our very last party
on Friday, November the 30.

More information will follow next week.
For the last few weekends let's party together,
let's have fun and let us again celebrate
those truly amazing past 8 1/2 years
the way the cocoonclub deserves it.

i dont get why your so angry at sven vath.

its hardly his fault the club appears to be making no money.

persoanlly i find it a sad loss that a brilliant nightclub looks like its going to cease to exist,

i had been there, had an amazing night...great memories of the place.
 
Does icey think the majority of this forum are partially sighted?

Seems to highlight, make bold, underline and increase the font massively on everything.
 
has väth already left the building/abandoned his sinking ship ?

is väth the "capitano schettino" of HIS former baby and homebase,
