Clubs in Dublin

Im from Dublin and go back a few times a year. Last time I was clubbing in Dublin I went to Spirit which I thought was really good for Dublin. There is also the POD and the Red Box which you could have a look into.
One thing to also consider is that the government are trying to change the law at the moment over there and make all clubs/bars close by 2.00am (I think). I dont know the full details of this and Im sure my details are a bit hazy at best but I definitely know that Spirit is one of the clubs lodging a complaint to try and get the law change rejected.
Someone living in Dublin at the moment might be able to tell you more. There are a few people from Dublin on this site.

Greetings from Dublin Marko. The clubbing scene in Dublin took a bit of a blow last week when some judge said clubs have to stop serving at 2.30 and close at 3 (I think). Some clubs who had a theatre license were exploiting a legal loophole which said clubs can serve up to half an hour before the end of a "performance" but didn't say what time a "performance" had to end, however this has been nipped in the bud by this said judge who probably hasn't set foot in the City Centre at night in about 20 years. Arsehole!!!!!
The 2 "big" clubs in Dublin would be Spirit and the Red Box. Spirit is usually just residents except maybe once a month when they'd have a guest over. The Red Box is more guest orientated with Fridays being the main night. Dave Clarke playing live is the only confirmed guest for November but the names who usually play every few months would be John Digweed, Deep Dish, Darren Emerson etc. Check www.pod.ie nearer the time you're coming to Dublin for a list of who'd be playing in November.
