Clubbing in New York

A friend of mine is in New York at the moment for a few days. Can anyone recommend a couple of clubs for him to try. They are staying close to Manhattan. Ideally looking for places that aren't too far out the way and not in the middle of the Bronx or anything. Not too poncy either. He's only there until Friday so he'll miss the weekend.

Musically , no R&B.

best club in NYC IMO is Marquee, very hot and trendy, always celebs out. It's in the meat packing district. Very chic!

They seem to do big midweek nights in NY. Cielo on Mondays n Thursdays seemed to be big.
