Keeping me warm in a fckin freezing Norway

Well mate, as you know the music over here sucks ass... big time.
I took my ipod down to a bar the other day and insisted that they stick some of the tunes on for an hour or so the music there was soooo bad and worse still, chosen and mixed by some automatic software on a pc stuck in a dj booth!! Unbelievable!... Feb 07 made an appearance and the kiddies loved it, eyes like saucers 8O as they're more used to the likes of Wham and Bon Jovi (on a good day).
Personal fave is the Amy Winehouse track about 9 mins from the end. Nice.
I will continue my work as international ambassador of the CliveMix.
Snakkes! (means laters in Norge)

There's a debate!

Depends how you define a DJ doesn't it?

I used to play clubs and dedicated 100% to it after leaving school (long time ago!), I loved it, and with free records and getting paid, who wouldn't love being able to drop your favourite track and see it go off and be totally hooked on working the energy in the club?
Anyway I packed in when I go married as it wasn't working out spending weekends behind decks and travelling. Music took a back seat for a few years until I got a divorce, now I'm spending a small amount of time on music when I can doing my mixes for friends who knew me back in the 'old days' who keep encouraging me. How mad is this, my friend’s Helen asked me to come to their daughter’s birthday party this weekend as her daughter wanted me there 'cause she loves my mixes! She won’t let them have the radio on in the car, only CliveMixes! (She’s 4!). I post my mixes here as it's the scene I'm into.

Well - back to the Ex bit... at the time I registered I was really anti this "DJ" name business... so called myself "ExDJ", now I recognise it's just a fashionable label for some or it's a vocation like I had for others - more about music fans sharing their sound and some who travel long distances just for the opportunity to do it in a club or bar. I've heard some amazing new DJ's and found some great tracks just sitting having a drink in the sun of San Antonio.. I can’t stand the new politics and cliques which operate in the modern DJ environment so I think I’ll remain where I am! :p Music is a great thing.

Hope your still awake after that rant!

Fat is a good word for DJ names, or even Phat!
Has anyone made a DJ Name creator thing like the old Porn-Star name thing? You'd need a tight set of rules depending on the style of music... PornStar name was funny at first, until people took advantage of knowning your mothers maiden name or first pet's name to guess passwords and access your bank account!

Just about where I am really too! From playing out and then giving it up when my daughter was born to be a good Dad and all! I'm now just mixing at home and putting out the odd mix's for friends and on here too! Lovin your mixes though Clive N1! 8)

Really like the mix.

My only very small criticism would be the first 10 mins or so which I always skip forward. I realise its not only you thats does this on mixes, but i'd rather just get to the pacier tunes straight away.

Nevertheless, dont want to take anything away from the fact I think its fantastic 8)

Thanks - excellent feedback, I'm always stuck on how to start a mix, I don't like to over do certain styles and I like a wide range that I try and blend across them all.. at least if you get past the bits you don't like and enjoy the bits you do it's all that matters/ it's the key to clubbing sometimes, being able to pace out the tracks which don't work and stick around for the tracks which do - DJ's have to adapt their sets from what they truely love to what a particular club vibe is about so they have dance floor success.. I just wish they didn't go so deep in the UK!!
I had some amazing prog and trance-esq tracks lined up but it just didn't sparkle next to the tracks I liked more, keep'm on hold for another time.

Can anyone recommend any purchased Mixes they'd recommend to me?

Clive

Cool - I knew I should get out more... Virtually Djing via iPod is a winner! I wonder if I can get posters printed! lol!
