IBIZA COMES TO LONDON
The Balearic Sessions return to Pacha London on 30th April for another dose of Balearic action first in a series of exclusive dates at Pacha London. For this party the Balearic Sessions presents Circo Loco. Conceived in 1999 by friends Andrea Pelino and Antonio with a desire to have a daytime party in Ibiza, Circo Loco has now grown to the only place to find like minded souls from around the world intent on chaos gather in one of the craziest parties ever! In 2001 Chirillo and UK promoter Charlie Chester joined Circo Loco and since then the party has exploded across Europe. Held weekly throughout the Summer in the intimate setting of DC10 Circo Loco has been built on word of mouth as the select few turned into the select few thousand defined by a soundtrack that has since swept Europe encapsulating the new generation of dance music. For this party alongside longstanding resident Jo Mills, from Germany they are joined by, one of their newest acts Loco Dice. After his first year as resident he has created a buzz with his own style of minimal funk laden sexy bass lines overlaid with bleeping tweaking melodies. A rapper and a Hip Hop DJ, the Tunisian Born Loco Dice soon became a very well known figure in his native German Hip Hop scene and as the scene exploded he did what any self respecting underground artist would: switched to house music! Check him out with support from Clive Henry.

alrighty.

Yours should be a top night.

Whats that club like??. They seem to be able to get pull in the top class dj's there.

they have been getting good DJ's lately.

mostly because they have Club Class there now, Nic F started with Club Class pretty much. Dusted was there the other week and Diggers before that.

The venue is pretty good, quality sounds just the crowd can be a bit chavvy sometimes. It's open til 4, which is late for the countryside!

I'd have thought they would have embraced the Meditteranean culture of late openings being in France and all that

I got this in my inbox last night and got all excited...but then I thought about it long and hard and decided I'd hate it.

Reasons why:

I LOVE Pacha London as a venue (although the crowd can be a bit sh!te these days - however on this occasion, I think it's irrelevent because it's a ticketed event).
I'm also really into Jo Mills (to the extent that I followed Circoloco from Thailand to Sydney on their globetrotters tour  ).

However - Pacha London is really swish and for me, only works with a glammed up crowd and nice funky sounds.
The thought of DC-10 *bang bang* stuff in that main room - hmmm. :?
I just don't think it will work.

Lovely as the music it is - I really do feel that there is a time and a place for it.

Babs - we'd like to be able to carry on and go to debauched aftershows everyweek too but I blame the government.

When are the France elections?

I think it's a very bizzarre choice of venue, did you go to Circo Loco @ Ministry a couple of years ago, that was way more suited to the dark dinginess of the Box.

I reckon they should try the Renaissance rooms.

(Oh dear - Rob's defaulting to V____! A bad case of pot kettle black methinks! ;) )

Seriously though, have you ever been there? When it's full it's incredible (and suitably dingy :P )
