Thanks for that, going to go in a couple weeks, I think I'll definitely be going early for the GardenGood idea! Week 3 (15th May) had one of the more interesting and varied Circoloco line-ups I've seen. We arrived around 9pm and Luciano was playing to a busy crowd in the Garden. I'm not a huge Luciano fan but he played a fun set (Foremost Poets 'Moonraker', Roach Motel 'Wild Luv') which harked back to the good ol' days of DC10 pre-roof and Bora Bora pre-fence! Nice to see the Garden back open and the new stage location worked surprisingly well. I had feared bottlenecks as it's by the door to the Main Room but before the Garden closes at 11pm, the only access inside is via the Terrace door and both rooms inside were pretty quiet until the Garden closed. Plus the location where the Garden stage used to be is now a decent seating / chill-out area. Could do with more seats or benches though. I think the lack of a massive name that night helped keep the crowd friendlier and less into posing & selfies too.
I did feel quite sorry for both Bambounou (Terrace) and Speaking Minds (Main Room) who were both playing good sets to near empty rooms, due to virtually everyone being outside for Luciano.
The excellent Matisa came on in the Main Room at 10.30pm and it got a bit busier but by 11pm when the Garden shut, the room was busy with a great vibe - still room to move around the back though. Lots of acid house and her own edits. She has such a infectious energy behind the decks which was much appreciated by the crowd. Indira Paganotto came on afterwards and the place became pretty packed. Loved the opening on her set but we then left to chill in the garden as both rooms inside got extremely busy.
I had been looking forward to seeing Saoirse in the Terrace around 1.30am but it was sardines by then with no movement into the room, so we called it a day and easily got a taxi back.
I'd recommend arriving earlier and enjoying the Garden vibes before the indoors gets too busy.
Didn't make the garden so missed ame, gutted, got there late in the end, found it hard to get going
Not my best circo loco night, blondish was ok very up and down, Denis sulta was up and down but played decent at times
Jennifer cardini I didn't enjoy at all
Joseph capriati was the best!
Hoping the dc 10 24 year anniversary is better
Trick was really good didn't see much of him tho
Can't believe you are still at it! I know I had a few years on you back in the day, but I salute your stamina ol' mucker! So this was my last night out from my current trip. After a disappointing Ants on Saturday I needed DC10 to save the day.
We got in around 8.30. The garden was nicely busy. Was curious to see the new layout and thought it worked well. Sound was decent even towards the old dj location as there was numerous speakers along the space.
Saw the end of Mita Gami and most of O.Bee vs Tomas Station set. I've never heard of them to be honest and was really looking forward to discovering a new DJ to follow but personally speaking thought they were very poor. Specially the last back to back. A mixture of party tunes like "jump around" and "higher state of consciousness" intertwined with spanish salsa tunes just did not work at all. I'm all up for some cheese in the DC10 garden once in a while but this was complete overkill.
I ended up spending time watching a lot of Tania Vulcano who was playing her usual consistent set of deeper house sounds in the terrace.
The night didn't start as I had hoped but thankfully it was uphill from then.
We moved in doors to see Folamour. He played a good funky house set, something I'd expect to hear at Glitterbox, not my bag usually but after the terrible set from outside this was heavenly for me. Job Jobse then cranked up the pace and the energy levels went up even more. Nice bouncy energetic tunes.
Sets of the night went to Tsha and Troxler. Never seen Tsha before and had her down of more of a vocal jacking house type dj and to a point she did play that, but quite harder than I thought. Really good tough house type set. Amazing atmosphere, had the crowd bouncing and clapping all set. Jeffersons Move Your Body was a great highlight. She's also such a bundle of energy behind the decks, it's quite infectious.
We ended the night with Troxler. Quality bouncy house again, lots of classic tunes I recognised in last hour, but can't remember the names haha other than a thumping mix of Lolas Theme and the new Fanciulli / Butch "I want you".
I'll edit more in here if the names come back to me. Also Dominica - "let you go"
Crowdwise I did think having lesser names this week might mean it being less busy than usual, which I think it was, even if peak times still had the usual traffic jams. Still I never once thought I had to leave with it being too busy, which has happened other times.
After a bad start, all in all an excellent last night for my ibiza holiday.
Edit: Nearly forgot to mention I saw Franky Wah clubbing it with some mates in the main room like us commoners all night lol Said hi to him and complemented him on a great set night before in the port. He was such a nice guy, seemed genuinely grateful to hear me say that. Top man.
Haha I think not having children somewhat helps in this departmentCan't believe you are still at it! I know I had a few years on you back in the day, but I salute your stamina ol' mucker!
Pretty much agree with what you said. For me stand out set was Mochakk even if at that point the terrace was pretty busy, I found the crowd pretty friendly and up for it in all rooms. All taken into account a good way to spend a Monday eve/night (and early Tuesday morning I suppose )So this was my last night out from my current trip. Tommy was there in his first year! Planning for the full troop for late season!Haha I think not having children somewhat helps in this department
You need a visit soon, start your kids early
He can't do a set without playing thatJust remembered Troxler ended with Wont Forget You - Shouse
Epic end of night tune
Really? Haha I've not seen him much recentlyHe can't do a set without playing that
