Christmas present from Ibiza

A few days before Xmas, I received my first ever speeding ticket, for doing 101 KMH on the C-731 in Ibiza on 22nd Sept!

100 euros, or 50 if paid quickly

Had to smile, as it's taken 25 years to be caught.

Wasn't smiling so much though the following day when another one arrived for the same stretch of road on 21st Sept!

For those familiar with Ibiza, it's that lovely Dual Carriageway between Ibiza Town and San Antonio, just as you come through the tunnel with the warning signs regarding speed cameras.

Be warned they do work.

My fault, but a speed limit which equates to approx 50mph on a decent dual carriageway it's easy to get caught out. Even more so as this stretch of road does change speed limit several times.

true that. the fact that you can go 100kph for a bit just as you get out of the tunnel (towards san an) and then the limit goes back to 80kph as soon as the descend starts totally doesn't make sense. and many people oversee this change. they do see the radar signs though, but they think they're safe with 100kph. this should be changed really. either allow 100kph until the can tomas roundabout or stay at 80kph all the time, allowing 100kph for less than a kilometer as you get out of the tunnel is useless.

Call me cynical...but I've always thought it was set up like that to sneakily generate some extra revenue.
