ok, so this summer will be my 4th trip to ibiza. i have stayed in

san antonio x 2
playa d'en bossa x 1

this year i am leaning toward staying in ibiza town? anyone any experience of this? we will definatley be getting a car so beaches arent important as we drive about during the day... but what about parking at hotels?

nightlife; san antonio doesnt really appeal only the odd trip to mambo's for pete tong. last year playa d'en bossa was too quiet (not including bora bora). also we're big on restaurants to obviously close proximity to dalt vila makes ibiza town appeal, and that area is closer to santa eulalia were we enjoy visiting. clubbing wise we will mainly go to pacha and space, so the east cost will be cheaper for taxis...

not keen on figuretas, though thats based on one trip to the jet ski guy there... opinions please, maybe the hotel es vive, is this available through any tour operator?

so the dilema,
1)we are considering san an bay, hotel sol, based mainly due the fact we could have san an's nightlife on offer...

2) staying somewhere in ibiza town... whats this like? is it too "urban"? car parking at hotels?

3) maybe figuretas, ideally we want to be within walking distance of ibiza town or some quality bars.

4) maybe talamanca?

thanks in advance for any help.

Parking round Ibiza Town is hellish in the summer. Figueretas is just as bad. Talamanca is better, but it's a fair walk into town. On the other hand, the little boats which go from Ibiza Town to El Divino run every 15 minutes or so from Talamanca up until 1am. It certainly beats the bus.

Talamanca is also very quiet. It suits me living here because I can be in Ibiza in 10 minutes, but I can get on earning a living in peace when I need to. I also like the way the beach never gets too busy even at the height of the season. And I can walk home from Pacha or El Divino in about 15-20 minutes.

Figueretas has got far more places to eat, drink and    a large number of "clubs". (No the sort featuring deejays.) But you can walk from Space or Bora Bora, if your feet aren't too sore, and into Ibiza Town. I've never stayed at Es Vive, but I've hung out there a lot. It's friendly, the food's good, but the rooms are not large. It's perhaps not ideal if sleep is an important feature of your holiday.

The other place you could look at would be Pacha's El Hotel which is being done up at the moment. It's halfway between Talamanca and Ibiza Town. Parking's generally not too bad, except around 3am. The Talamanca hotels are nice, but definitely not clubber oriented.

Let me know if there's anything else I can tell you.

this is just the type of info i'm after, thanks :D

tbh, clubbing is the major thing we're after, though obviously its nice to have it on offer. our holiday last year consisted mainly of days out exploring in the car, a few days by the pool, evening were mostly trying as many restauants as possible, santa eulalia, san an, san rafael.

the problem with pdb was that everything seemed to shut at 12. the bar life in ibiza definately is the most appealing.

quiet hotels, do suit us fine, its just me and my girlfreind, and we do like our sleep.

talamanca is certainly looking favourite at the moment then, i'll look into it a bit more on the site.

thanks again.

ok, first question, found some details on talamanca, its says some aircraft noise.... it said that about pdb and the deafening roar of planes every 10 minutes was slightly annoying... can you shed any light?

this is turning out to be some task.

found one holiday company the do one hotel in talamanca, the hotel argos, but its a bit too pricey.

found only one tour operator that do figueretas, the mira mola aprts, checked availability and only 7 nights were available on the dates we wanted.

Yes, there is some aircraft noise, but it's nothing like PDB. It's loud enough to notice, but not enough to drown out conversation.

BTW you'll find you can book quite a few of the other Talamanca hotels elsewhere on this site.
