OK this question has probably been asked loads of times but ...... where's the best place for booking a cheap holiday to ibiza? i've been many times before and always booked through teletext and got a really good deal, but it doesnt seem like theres anything available this year.

.... can anyone help?

We usually book ours last minute without a problem, you could always try that, and we get the arae we want to stay. Other than that I dont think "cheap holidays" exist anymore

There will be a bit of debate about this one actually, some people prefer to book independantly but I am a fan of booking with the tour operator and letting them do all the work! Depending where you are flying out of booking directly can be tricky. Easyjet do direct out of London but if you are unfortunate to live in the middle of nowhere like me you will probably find a chartered flight more suitable as it will go direct. Keep shopping around your local travel agents and try ringing some of the numbers of teletext, if you leave it to the last minute, the prices may go down but there may not be any availability! Good luck! ;)

I wanted to go to a specific hotel in June so bit the bullet this year and payed a 'bit over the odds' through a tour operator.

In September I was not so fussy so booked the flight through Thomsonfly and the hotel through this site. Was a great deal cheaper but still nothing like as cheap as if I had waited until last minute.

Takes nerve to do that though. You can never be sure you will get anywhere and I like to know !

Yeh it pays to know someone in high places in travel if you know what I mean!! Some late deals you can guarantee yourself a specific area and star rating, which isn't so bad! :)

Are you the person to know then, Dawn? ;)

The thing is, the price tends not to come down nearer the time. Obviously you do get the £99 one week in Ibiza holidays coming up at short notice, but these are almost always with Club 18-30 and will be in San Antonio. If you're fine with this, than this is by far the cheapest way.

Uhhhh, nah! Not Really!!

.....All I meant was, it helps when you trust the person who is selling the holiday, I work in a tour operator and its always easy enough to guess which accommodations will be used in allocation on arrivals, that's all I meant! Sorry to disappoint! :P :D

i recetly booked with 'Just' who are a budget tour operator, so no reps, no in flight meal etc, and no under occupancy on apartments. payed about 200 quid for a week which isn't too bad...

Book flights and hotel seperately. We did this year and got a 2 week holiday for 2, b&b for just under £400 in July. I thought that was excellent condsidering we booked through thompsons last year & paid that much each for one week in may!!!

Failing that, just keep you eye out on the high street for some of their last minute deals... if they have a seat to fill on the plane they will practically give the holiday away. Its always worth checking.

yep you can do a good deal on your own with flights/hotel. one year my mate got a last minute charter flight for 80 quid, didn't bother booking a hotel. we picked him up from the airport and went to a few places in playa d'en bossa, he found a room for about 25 quid a night. that was four years ago so expect to pay a little bit more today.

if you want to book in advance then you can get a late night easyjet flight for not much more than 100 quid. do some searches on the web for hotels...
