Cheap, good locals bars in Ibiza Town ?

I have done the tour of the cool trendy bars in Ibiza Town, had a great time but had my fill of small, horrendously expensive beers

However, I'm still planning a couple of nights in the Town to sample the atmosphere in September.

I'm now looking for some nice cheaper establishments for a few ales prior to parading round the harbour.

I guess they will be places which are in the back streets as opposed to the harbour, possibly used more by locals than tourists ?

I saw a few decent looking bars near the bus stops in Town and on the way in from PDB that did not look like the sort of place that would charge you half your holiday money for a 25cl bottle of Carling !!

Any tips ?

90% of the bars in Ibiza are used almost exclusively by people who live here. you don't need to go in any backstreets - just avoid the marina!

the marina or port or harbour area.

it's where you find all tourists and no Ibicencos.

it is therefore, the real ibiza!

Terrier has raised a great question here.

Has anyone got any further info on cheaper drinking establishments in Ibiza Town?

can bar pou

I've always enjoyed Can Bar Pou - just along from the Mar y Sol with harbour views. Moderate prices and a harbour view and open all year.

Probably local beer would be cheaper, Carling is export and it's expensive in Ibiza and in Caceres ;)

I'm trying to think where the Mar Sol is, but I can't remember. Any landmarks you can point me to?

Believe me I didn't ask for Carling.

I got a taste for Estrella over there last time and asked for a big glass of that . . .when the waiter at the establishment that will remain nameless . .oh, ok then Dome . . .came back he was carrying a tiny bottle of Carling that I had to feel around the table for before I could locate it.

He then proceeded to charge me a fortune at which point I resolved to stop faffing about in bars to be seen it and go to bars to drink in ! :)

Last year I went to a place called Teatro Pereyra, I liked it but I dont remember the prices.I I do not remember so the probably was the normal ones in Ibiza.
It was nice, they have a group playing jazz very good, but I think they have different groups playing.

We went to a cracking little bar in D'alt Vila called Banditos, the fella who ran it was well friendly and they served the lovely Estrella in iced jugs........ mmmm very nice!!

the pereyra is reasonably priced till the music starts when it becomes horrendously expensive. i remember paying 1500 pts for a water and something else on the occasion of my wife's 30th birthday. she's 45 now and we still haven't been back!
