cheap digs for students

Can anyone recommend cheap digs for my son and his 5 pals who are training it around Europe during the uni summer holidays this year , they plan on arriving in Ibiza 2nd week in August for just one week and I can't imaging they will have much money by then.

On the Europe bit of the trip they are staying in youth hostels, but they have asked if they can stay at my house when they get to the Island, all have stayed with me before over the last 10 years as kids, I like them all, but now they are men.. and I don't need to clean up after 5 grown men any more.

Also they need to be in the middle of the action, my house is too much in the country and they can't affrord cabs.

Can anyone recommend cheap flexible accommodation in san an that wouldn't need a pre book arrival date as they are all smart but can't read a map between them and may not make the arranged check in date.
Thanks

The hostel above Ok Corral, Dub Diamond, next to bar Amsterdam...that alwasy has rooms....wouldn't put anyone or anything you value in it though!

basic but right in the heart of the west end bars.if Rick still runs Ok Corral.you will get good food.i;ve not seen him for a few years.he was unwell last i did see him.nice bar.very uk ish style.

Ricks still about, I worked for him last summer. Still stands and PRs outside the bar at night :D

They don't do food in their anymore, haven't since the gas explosion a few years ago, you can still get a 1euro San Miguel though and a lovely british home from home :)

ah yes i remember now reading about that.shame as it was very good food and snacks.its with me now staying in pdb i don;t go over so much to san an now at night.mainly in day.do you know how John is from the boozer pub?.

It's the height of the Summer season and if they don't want to pre-book it'll be a 'take what's left' scenario .. suggestion above is pretty good one for what they need if they want to keep costs down.

Can't blame you for not wanting them to stay over  :!:

What's John's dog called? Lovely sturdy old girl...

Cheap digs for students:

"You're just avoiding work!"

"Parasites"

"It's just three years on the p1ss"

Seriously though, surely if they are coming in August, they need to book something. Unless, of course, they have free accomodation with a live-in chaffeur, as a last resort.

i'm thinking of buying some tents and sticking them in the garden, but would still have the delivering them to places at 1am problem. Last year they would return at 6 or 7am ish in illegal cabs with no money to pay the driver, wake me up off their ttitts, eyes glazed and ask me to get them out of trouble. Good kids but for f***s sake, I need my sleep too!

I will try to go and check the OK Coral in April when I am back out there, I reckon that their big train adventure around Europe will run out of cash very early and they will end up on my Entrada in Ibiza some time late July! Knowing my better half, she will then feed them for the next few weeks whilst I get to run them around at all hours and buy them beers.

I don't mean to moan or anything but I should add my 3 and 7 year olds wake up as soon as the cockrel at the bottom of the hill starts up it's cockreling. Usually around 6am but can also happen any time of the night if a car comes around the corner with it's main beam on!
Stupid bird! (Cockrel not my other half)

^^ is it impossible to rent a private apartment for a month in readiness ? That way you can just direct them there upon inevitable skint return to freebie digs from European shenanigans. Not sure whether it would work out affordable that time of year. Others must surely know.

i'm thinking, turn all the lights off and hope they can't find it! Of course, chances are they would arrive in a cab with it's main beam on, the stupid cockrel would twit twoo or whatever it does, wake the younger kids up, they would switch a light on and then the older boys would discover us.

I would then have to cough for the cab, get them a beer whist mum made them a fry up. All this will happen around 5am having previously hit the sack at 11pm.

It's the way my summer will go I think:)

Well .... you did go and get yourself a house in Ibiza with a bunch of teenagers and a young family to balance up. Something tells me that's a recipe for pandemonium whatever you try to do to get a restful Summer in the sunshine :) !

yeh, you make your bed and you lie in it.

On further contemplation, it's not the old kids that are the problem, it's the young ones. They wake up so early and you have no choice but to get up as well, this means you have to go to bed early to compensate.
Obviously, the cockerel is still top of the list as most annoying and could easily end up on the BBQ if it strayed too far... but really it's all good stuff.

PS. Don't stop the hostel recommendations flowing in!!
