Champs league- Matchday 3

Apologies, but.... :lol::lol::lol: your support at times is so transparent. Admit it...

Played off the park springs to mind.. and it could've been a lot worse funny how a lot of teams struggle to fill their stadia when playing lesser opposition..

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I bet you probably didn't even see the match:roll:,if you did then you would've seen that we had a few good chances to win it,i already said Benfica had most of the possession and were the better side overall,BUT if we were played off the park then we would've have had any chances at all and would've defended solidily for the entire 90 mins.

I'm not even going to furnish you with any type of answer with your rubbish about Celtic fans.

now toodle along and play some cheesy music.

Great nights footy... enjoyed flicking through all the games.

From what I saw of Chelsea, they did seem to ride their luck in phases (not saying that as a Barca fan, i actually mean it!) Also, one for Morbyd, has their style changed since mourinho left? or is it same tactical set up? I see SWP isnt happy about being left out!

Real Madrid were also extremely fortunate. Olympiakos with 10 men all game created about 5 clear chances, Casillas saved them again.

Liverpool will have to focus in the league, didnt see enough of the game to comment, but that first goal was comical (for a neutral like myself)

and for the spurs fans tonight, Getafe are a decent team!

I don't think it was a case of riding our luck... we controlled the match for long stretches and there were a handful of good attacks. That said, Malouda's goal was a bit lucky (horrible goalkeeper error, although Malouda's run throroughly deserved a goal), but Drogba's goal was immaculate. Alex should have been sent off and penalty awarded, Didier had a clear-cut penalty as well, the Schalke goal was not offsides, but Joe Cole was clean through on goal and incorrectly flagged as well. The moral of the story is, the luck evened out and the result reflected the run of play.

No, it's not Barca-level entertainment yet and only minor tactical differences so far, but we're definitely heading in the right direction as compared to the first few weeks of the season.

Chelsea 2 - Schalke 0 :D :D

Good match... continued improvement in our play, and not too much work left to go through to the group stages. :D Great atmosphere in the stadium too (as much as I could discern from the constant singing and cheering heard on the broadcast).
This Avram Grant guy might be alright after all... Despite the Rosenborg debacle, the only teams in better positions in their groups are Man U & Arsenal (both on 9pts).

oh dear lord.......:lol::lol::lol:
