after a 2 week absence, its back 8)

Mcdonsj, guess you lot must be flying high after the score on saturday :D

Any injuries for you? We are plagued with them. Our two usual holding midfielders, Toure and Marques are still out, and to top that, Deco got injured on saturday (for one month!) Plus we lost 3-1

So it's likely we'll be playing Gudjonson in midfield, thats how desperate we are

soaring!

prob be back down to earth on tuesday but they'll give it a go

Darcheville & Hemdani missed saturday
i doubt Darcheville will make it but Cousin is equally as capable there
Ferguson had a knock on saturday but ran it off

watch out for "Cafu" hutton at right back! :)

*edit*
both are definitely out
limits our striking options but never mind!

Actually, Eidur plays quite well in midfield, taking a forward position and linking up play with the strikers. I liked him in that position more than as a striker in his last couple of years at Chelsea.

We're missing Terry & Cole this week but Alex and Ferreira played pretty well at the weekend so I'm not too worried... plus Bridge could be back and Ben Haim is always an option. Thank god we've got some back-up in defense this season!!

If Drogba plays like he did over the weekend, Schalke should be easily dealt with.

Still gutted over Saturdays disastrous result against Rankers :?i sincerely hope to fu*k Strachan has the players ready and fired up against Benfica, knowing our away record in the CL im not confident at all,id be happy with a draw.

the reality is that it would be no surprise if rangers won

I agree, im not confident at all.

I know what youre saying about Guddy Morbyd, i think going forward won't be a problem with him, but i feel he's worse at winning balls back than Deco. People don't realise how many balls Deco wins in midfield. Im not sure Gudjonson will do that dirty work. So without Toure I think Rangers might run the game in midfield. If you put Xavi, Iniesta and Guddy on top of each other, they'll just about reach Ferguson ;)

Put it this way, i'll happily take a draw now. For the return fixture Toure should be fit.

Cant wait for 7.45 8)

impressive card display for the start of the game planned
1 stand to doff a cap to Barca & celebrate our club
2 stand to celebrate the 1972 CWC win in Barcelona

well................

largely outplayed for 70% of the match (without a lot of real chances mind you) we managed to get a point from Barca at home

a big cheer for Carles Puyol - right at the final whistle - a big clap for the Gers fans

:D

7pts from 9 - on our way!!!

Well deserved draw. you were very well organised. I felt we lacked spark in the final third.
I'm was so frustrated with Ronaldinho, we really should've sold him last summer. He's so SLOW! We'd be trying a slick quick move and then the ball gets to him and he just stops and tries to do a silly trick which never came off  He's been like that all season.

Still considering our injuries and the group so far, im happy with a draw too.

Good to see puyol do that with the Gers fans.8)

Lyon winning wasnt great though, looks like they might get all 6 points from Stuttgart.

Arsenal looked VERY impressive I have to say, Slavia Prague werent exactly tight at the back though

nope, (See above) i thought it was quite likely..........

a combination of rangers current form and knowing el barsa.

Thats before the game, during it looked like Rangers were more than happy to get a draw and didnt seem like scoring other than the last 15mins.

PS: I've seen penalties given for that type of handball ;)

the next two games for us are irrelevent if we beat Lyon in the last

i think 1 point in Germany is enough to guarantee the UEFA Cup slot
but just now that would be a major let down

agree with your thoughts there Ferd - Barca had possession in abundance but not enough ooomf near the goal

Benfica 1 - 0 Celtic

And so our dreadful away form in the CL continues...we didn't deserve this after some heroic saves by super Artur Boruc,no doubt Benfica were like a team possessed on the night and were by far and away the better team but we had enough chances as well and could've easily won it,a moment of defensive madness cost us the game, why oh why did they try and playn the offside trap in the dying minutes :spank: the referee waved play on (he was onside in fairness) and Benfica scored.

Man of the man was Artur Boruc,on this form one of the best goalkeepers in the UK (certainly one of the most underated),what a couple of amazing saves he made tonight, must also mention the thousands of Celtic supporters who made the journey, amazing away support... vocal throughout game even at the end.

bad night overall.:?

Apologies, but....:lol::lol: your support at times is so transparent. Admit it...

Played off the park springs to mind.. and it could've been a lot worse funny how a lot of teams struggle to fill their stadia when playing lesser opposition..

Chelsea 2 - Schalke 0 :D :D

Good match... continued improvement in our play, and not too much work left to go through to the group stages. :D Great atmosphere in the stadium too (as much as I could discern from the constant singing and cheering heard on the broadcast).
This Avram Grant guy might be alright after all... Despite the Rosenborg debacle, the only teams in better positions in their groups are Man U & Arsenal (both on 9pts).
