Back from Milano, city of posers, nancy boys, designer boutiques and the beautiful Duomo Cathedral (and Milan and Inter:lol:) as ever a large traveling Celtic support, i can't think of another team who brings more fans to away games in Europe.

As for the game, well we more than held our own in the first half but foolishly sat back the second half and gave away a soft goal but i thought we done enough to deserve a draw not that we needed it as Benfica done us a favour beating Shakthar Donestk 2-1 in Ukraine so that's us through:D great session last nite, fcuk that paying €12 for half a beer in some bar when you can get bottles in the supermarket for less than a euro:D

Anyway delighted we have once again made it through to the next phase of the CL, Strachan needs to spend in the January sales, some quality defenders are needed as we are sadly lacking in that department, hopefully our best player Naka will be back soon as well and we'll be firing on all cylinders.

Roma next week with my Man United mates, got a cheap flight and Hotel and ticket so will enjoy this jolly.

Dubai then on the 24th December, for some sun, sea, and whatever else tickles my fancy:twisted: then London for NYE, it's a hard life i tell ye.:lol:8)

it's hard to get gear in Dubai so i suggest you take your own. Customs are pretty slack and they tend to turn a blind eye.

But if you don't take your own, and you see this guy on the way, I hear he's got a stash.

oh jonny I've missed you and your 'footy rundowns'....I can think of another set of fans, the ones you are going with to roma ;):lol:!

My mates tell me United will only have about 1,500 there next week, only the die hard will go as United have qualified already.

Haah, jolly?!

It'll only be the die hard Man U fans as most of them don't fancy becoming the local training for the local gendarmes and their new batons!

Come on the Gers tonight!! 8)

Btw, even I didnt think torres would turn out to do so well at Liverpool

we've got milan, inter, barsa or the merengues (+ sevilla prob) for the 2nd round.

most of the group winners will have never had such an 'easy' 2nd round tie. suppose that means it could be 'big gun central' (TM) come the quarters.

i fancy real madrid, we've not had them in european competition for ages.

I agree, a Real v Liverpool tie would be brilliant. I'd rather they face Liverpool than we do!

I'll be happy with Fenerbache, Shalke, Olimpiakos or Celtic.

Shame about Rangers last night, that miss with 10 mins to go was horrendous though

So Chelsea could get Fenerbache, Olimpiakos, Lyon, Roma or Celtic... I'm not sure which ones I'd want, really... none of those are really easy trips... on their day, any of them could have a go at you.

awful miss
didn;t deserve it on the night
at the time of the draw - 3rd place would have been a successful effort at the group (what with Barca, German champs & french champs)
but after the first half of the matches, we should have qualified

onto the UEFA cup now

I know nothing is easy, but some are easier than others. I think this year the difference between teams finishing 1st and those 2nd is quite big.

Lyon have picked up recently and might be dangerous.

Ya, I agree in general... but Olimpiakos have been punching above weight, trips to Turkey are always hazardous, Roma drew with (admittedly, a 2nd team) Man U, and as you noted, Lyon has started looking better lately. And then there's Celtic...

I'm going to refrain from overconfidence... banana peels lurk all around!

better luck next time old chap :lol::lol:

Heard some United fans were stabbed last nite in Roma before the game, ultras scumbags:evil: never known police overkill like it, waiting half an hour to get into the game, they were lucky there wasn't a riot happening leaving people with tickets locked outside, eventually got into the stadium 10 mins into the game held back an hour after the game  then held on a bus 40 minutes after the game and eventually given an escort into town, the Italian police are absolute cun*s.

Anyway asides from those unfortunate incidents we had a good time and Roma is a beautiful city indeed.
