Cell Phones in Clubs?

I know how...uh...funny door staff can get about cameras and such. The last time I went to Space, the door staff tried to force me check my disposable camera. FYI- I used all the film up, but they didn't care. Left a bad taste in my mouth regarding that club, but hey....checked out Judgement Sundays and had a blast!

Okay back on target....please tell me if you're being required to check your cell phones. I'm bringing my Iphone and will not leave it with a stranger.

cell phones are not any longer a problem in clubs. they've realised they can't do anything about it - everyone has one with a decent camera nowadays.

Didn't actually think was would be an issue at all whilst out there; was taking pictures and a few videos on both a mobile and digital camera in Es Paradis without problems.

True.
Clubs' no-camera policies seem pretty much useless nowadays... every phone has an 8 megapixel sensor and a flash - better specs than pocket cameras had 5 years ago!

R U Kidding me, don't they understand that the chances of you putting it on FB quite high, surely that's good advertising :o

they have people that pay to go round taking photos, the guys that hand you the cards?

but yeah, pretty redundant now as pointed out above

I tried to hide my camera down my hotpants at the Zoo Project (i even knew we were allowed them yet i stupidly still took it ) but they wernt having any of it  so had to pay for them to keep it for me, until i left....thankfully my Blackberry did the job when it came to pictures - they are clearly stuck in a little time warp when it comes to technology.

the club owners must have a pretty poor opinion of their customers, conning them at every opportunity and forcing them to leave personal items at the door.

i remember watching the skips fill up with soft drinks when jacko did aintree many years ago and wondered why do we put up with so much crap?

kev:lol:

I've asked bouncers to take pictures of me and my friends in Space and DC10. I think they are worried about people taking pictures of DJs. Sven Vath is a particular culprit. He wants to make lots of money from his fans but doesn't want his picture taken. I've seen people trying to take pictures and one of his entourage covering his face for him in cocoon. But then I suppose they would say that the flashing of the camera could put them off. But surely after his 90 odd years in the game he can mix a tune and ignore a small flash in a club full of flashing lights and ice cannons :?

with much of this music mixed in the back bedroom the week before, how can a flash put anyone off?

who takes the pictures, is it the bloke from the parrot show?

My mates got away with taking theirs in to zoo project, bouncer asked and mates said no and he just ushered us in. Space don't have a policy anymore so it is a free for all and everyone taking pics everywhere can get quite annoying actually
On the way in to amnesia last week my mate had his drugs in his top pocket where his camera was and in his fear for being caught with them he grabbed it at the same time as the bouncer and said "camera" so had to pay 3e to have it looked after which he gladly paid when we didn't know the reaction should he of found a big bag of mdma in there
I don't mind folk taking pics in clubs but ffs have a bit of respect for people who just want to dance and enjoy the night rather then having to look at a floor full of mobiles in the air trying to get the whole night

I feel so embarrassed for asking such a redundant question. I want to be in party mood when arriving at the club...not pissed that I had to pay to check my phone.

Some people can get annoying with their photo taking. I'm really discreet.

It would only ever be a few euros anyway, but yeah generally most clubs dont do it.

I got pics in pacha, space, amnesia, zoo (on my blackberry) es paradise 8)

Took pictures and video using my Canon SD at Pacha 2 weeks ago. Bouncer saw me, and told me to put it away, but didn't confiscate it. Took it back out later and took more pix, so no problems.

When I went into Amnesia (I think it was Amnesia, but I cant remember) I just shoved my camera under my armpit and walked straight in, the amount of flashing lights anyway hid my camera flash.

Alas, it was all for nothing as I dropped my camera after a few days - Completely ****ing it up!

Nothing wrong with capturing memories I love taking pics when I'm clubbing :) some people will stand all night making videos and taking pictures, sometimes moving people out of the way who are dancing, that's whats really annoying
