Hi,
I stayed at the Catalina last year with 3 mates and thought they were great. Not exactly the Ritz but it was spacious, VERY clean, the air con worked and it was perfect for us girlies who were purely there for clubbing. I wouldn't go if you are looking for a bit of kip though...there's no chance! Yes, the old man on reception is a bit rude and is hardly a welcoming face but wouldn't you be? He's old and has to put up with bonkers clubbers all the time!!
Overall it's perfect to dump your stuff and you can't fault the location and price. We've booked the Catalina again this year but this time we have paid extra for a sunset view...I've heard these rooms are great!
