Catalina Apartments

Folks,

Just booked 2 x weeks on the White Isle in September. Have always wanted to stay at Catalina Apartments because of its location.

However, I have read some very bad reports recently of thefts happening in the apartments.

Has anyone had any experience of this / or heard any stories?

Don't let your guard down just because you are on holiday. Thefts happen everywhere. I am sure the Catalina will be fine :)

it's got a bit of bad rep mainly cos of the location meaning it gets very high "footfall" of people passing through nearby.

i personally would stay there cos 1 bad story in 100 otherwise good ones, always gives a poorer impression than the reality. do all the sensible things tho, like not leaving all your money, docs, valuables wide open. and get travel insurance too.
 
The reason for thefts is the lower rooms balcony's are nearly at street level. If you close balcony doors, put valuables in safe deposit box you won't have a problem. Good spot to stay.Enjoy
 
i stayed a couple of years back with no problems apart from beating up some tw*t that climbed in through our balcony doors while we were in the room. 8O

Oh and the room full of divvies who were showering under a lightbulb that had water pouring out of it. They called me in and asked me how to turn the shower off?? ha ha
