are their cash machines in ibiza that are part of the link and will allow me access to my account?

We couldn't find any Link machines so instead used our debit card to withdraw cash using the VISA machines.

Yes, if your card has a Maestro or Cirrus sign on it. That's the way I do it every year, saves messing about changing money.

I wouldn't rely on cash machines.

They always seem to be out or order when you most need 'em

theres plenty of them though so i wouldnt worry and the one thats just down from eden has never been out of order whenever ive been there. i always use them and have never had any problems :D

in san an there is one opposite the spa shop, near the space ticket shop, me and my boyfrined used that one alot but its not in english we just presed any old button

Yeah, we used them all the time last year - just like being back at home, and most are multilingual so you can choose "english". Slight problem though - there were a couple of occasions where the whole network was 'out', ie every cashpoint we tried in San An was unavailable. Probably a glitch though!

I might try using them this year, we normally use travellers cheques but they are such a pain.....and you only spend as much cash as you have if we do it that way I might end up spending less!........or maybe not! ;) :D

do they charge you to withdraw money?

About £1.50 a pop me thinks but still better than having to run back and change cheques all the time :P

Are Maestro & Cirrus the only networks used by atms there? I've only got Plus and Star on my debit card....anyone heard of these? :?:

Plus is allllll good :) At least it worked for me there in 2002. I don't think they would have changed now. It's so much easier just using your debit card... I remember asking the locals many times where the nearest "telebanco" was
