Carrying records on BA flights?

Has anyone taken records to ibiza on BA, is it best to take a box and put it in as luggage, or would a soft bag as hand luggage be ok?

i've taken a big UDG bag as hand luggage on easyjet twice before no problem, but i get the feeling BA wouldn't be quite so err easy ...! :?

thanks! :)

A small 50 record bad is ok but BA have a size limit on hand luggage - if it fits in the holder at check in it goes ok - if not it's in the hold.....

I think there's a weight limit on hand luggage too.

I did a sly one last year - took a 50 record bag and a laptop bag with my headphones and more records in. BMI Baby allow you one piece of handluggage plus a laptop. ;) :D

I've done both - i've squeezed 60 records in a UDG bag into hand luggage and also put it in with normal suitcases and never had a problem.
I carry headphones and cd wallet seperately and then hope and pray at collection that my records turn up !!!!
:D

Hi Marcus

Just spoken to BA on the phone and they said that they strictly impose a 5kg weight limit on all cabin baggage and anything over that would need to go in the hold. I'm gonna pick up a lockable hard box and risk the hold I think - I've even got a mate booked on the same flight as me who isn't going and I asked if I could just put my records in his seat but they said no.

See you on Tuesday.

Ben

thanks for the info chaps. :D

stu - so a UDG bag is tough enough to go in the hold?

I didn't have any probs with mine, but then i've only done Ibiza and back a few times, it hasn't had any really heavy foreign useage.

hmm hard box or UDG ... think i may go with my UDG, so much easier to carry!!

ben - thanks for the BA info, see you tuesday :D
