Is not that I am such a fan of carnival but since I haven't been out much lately I am looking really foward to saturday nigth. I will have dinner in my sisters home with the usual gang and then out in Portocolom!!!!!

the word carnaval comes from the latin meaning goodbye to meat. that's because in lent - representing christ's desert fast - we don't eat meat and generally give up consuming something that we like.
in britain we eat pancakes and pretty well every other country in the world has a massive party. remember your french lou? mardi gras means fat tuesday (from all those pancakes)

i will, as ususal, be donning my dalmatian suit and jaki will be all dressed up as cruela de ville!
