Need to post a few more brief club reviews here i think ...
Last night was a really tough night to choose where to go ... Armada had Rank 1 (live), Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren, Mark Knight, Laidback Luke and Tocadisco ! What a line-up !
But i chose to see Laurent Garnier and Carl Cox at Space, Garnier is a bit of a legend you see and he was playing two sets last night - one in the main room, the other in the terrace.
Ok ... it was rammed at Space and hot hot hot inside the discoteca.
But my god, what an amazing night. Every time i´ve been to Carl Cox this year, the energy in the discoteca has been unreal. Laurent Garnier absolutely smashed it, making Cox more of a supporting dj rather than the big-time headliner that he is
Garnier´s first 30 minutes were unreal, every tune was getting cheers and whistles. Unfortunately i can´t whistle and i lost my voice after my first week in the Ibiza clubs this summer - so i could only show my appreciation by dancing like a loon and throwing my hands in the air ... a lot It was techno but not as hard as you´d imagine him to be.
His second set was in the terrace and he played more of a tech-house set, also pretty damn good lol. Even better, after the rammed discoteca chaos, it was nice to get to the terrace and actually have a little bit of space to move !
As the club reporter for Spotlight, you can imagine that i´m out clubbing most nights of the week and i´ve have been to many, many parties this summer.
I can confidently say that last night was easily the 2nd best night i have had this summer, and there have been some quality parties i´ve been to this summer.
I´d recommend Carl Cox to anyone visiting Ibiza (and next week the Plump DJ´s are headlining). Awesome atmosphere that you only find at a few other parties (Cream, Cocoon and DC10).
Saying that, Armada (at Amnesia) is also a great party on Tuesday nights with some quality dj´s every week. Choose either of these nights and you can´t go wrong
By the way ... if you´re interested, my top top night of the summer so far was We Love Space on 27 July, where the Plump DJ´s and Boyz Noise were on fire in the discoteca, while Paul Woolford was up to his usual high standards in the terrace at the end of the night !!
