Does anyone know if clubs publish or post up dj set times in clubs? Also does coxy's gig at Space kick of earlier in the night or is it an all nighter with say a 12am-6am time scale?? Got it in my head it maybe starts at 8pm-3am??

space opens at 9 or 10 on Carl Cox's night and closes at 7am.

Coxy plays first in the sunset terrace on most dates from 10 - 12 then again in the main room from about 3ish until close.

Carl Cox, Space Sept 13th

From past experiences this summer, what time is Mr Cox likely to start his set next Tuesday?

Yes. I had confirmation from safehouse management that he is not playing the sunset terrace that night :(. Pretty damn peeved about it really. Each to their own, but I am not a big fan of the discoteca.

I actually missed his sunset terrace set last tuesday, but I can confirm he tore the discoteca up big time!! :D:D

Why aren't you a fan of that room? Those ice cannons are f***ing brilliant

They are brilliant - agreed ! It was just so rammed on the main dancefloor in there ... always seems to be like that on Coxy nights !

I think its more of a "J'aime bien mais je prefer" not that I dont like it.

The discoteca doesnt really get going till the wee small hours and being one that does not prescribe to party prescriptions, waiting til 4 or 5am to get the best part of the night can be a long wait.

It is a big room as well and feel less connected with the DJ (unless I go and stand behind the booth).

Amnesia seem to have nailed it with a good mix of terrace space and main room.

Also like the idea of terrace clubbing. I think that Space could make more effort and put on nights that get going a little earlier other than WLS.

By the way.

If anyone knows Carl personally, could you ask him very nicely to play the SST on 13th September?

Thanks P

Fair enough, my girlfriend also prefers Amnesia to Space.

Each person has different tastes. I prefer the darker feel of Discoteca to the main room at Amnesia, plus I feel the Amnesia terrace is a bit too big and the sound in there is too tinny (a bit like a big warehouse I guess).

I do agree the discoteca can be souless if it isnt full, but when it gets going for me its the best place to be.

Kimajy, it wasnt that rammed the night we were there, I found plenty of room in the middle of the dancefloor once you get past those dancing on the side.

Just getting old and claustrophobic, mate - saw the crowding at the edges of the main floor and couldn't be a*sed to fight our way in and out ! We ended up near the bar where there was masses of space to dance freely without bumping in to anyone, but would have been nice to have a bit more ice-cannon exposure and a better view of Mr Digweed :). Anyhow the music sounded great everywhere in there so was extremely happy nonetheless. Like the Discoteca best after 6am when it takes on a particular feel somewhow... and people start leaving !

I prefer the SST or the covered terrace when the music is good but I think Discoteca is also great, the sound system is amazing and the visuals + ice cannons are very good, the only problem with that room, especially during the last hours, is that it tends to turn too much into a "sausage feast"

I'm not that kind of person that go out clubbing to try to pull women or perv at them but a bit of a mixed crowd would definitely create a better vibe in my opinion.

we're never too old :D

I do get you though, glad you had a good night anyway.

G.W.. it's true about the sausage fest  but then i do not know too many girls who enjoys the likes Chris Liebing or Adam Beyer boshing out the hard techno in the early hours so it tends to be mainly men

I only mention this because at last years closing of Space i was having the time of life listening to those two when my girlfirend said she wanted to leave because it was too tough!

The closing party was AWESOME btw.

Sneaks mixing was a bit dodgy and the Main-Discotequa was rammed and boiling but other than that it was excellent.
