Car thefts on the island

Just to let anybody know who has a car here on the island, to take care. Our car has been broken into, twice in 2 weeks. First time was at the beach at Es Cubells. Nobody about, took our radio and sat nav. Second time, the car was parked in San An on the road to Savannah.

I know it is common sense, but leave nothing showing. Cost us 120 euros for a new window.

Hope it doesn't happen to anybody else.

I'm not kidding,a couple of weeks ago we had a pair of espadrilles and a packet of McVitie's gingernuts stolen from a locked boot overnight,no sign of break in....boot was still locked in the morning!

If anyone sees those biscuits.....

These statements are part of a report in which it is stated that "representatives of the British

for young tourists visiting the island."

It does not refer exclusively to the problems related to security or crime,
but also to rising prices.
In the BBC report, it gives a voice to many young British people are in San Antonio,
both tourists and workers (workers).
The high prices, says the BBC, pushing tourists to consume more alcohol in their rooms,
because the premises is increasingly expensive.
"I found a job here as a helper boat, but need another to pay the rent of the room,"
said a British man from San Antonio 22, explaining that the minimum price paid in the locality
is 200 euros month for a shared room.

Moreover, the consul also warns his countrymen that, because of the economic situation,
"hospitals can ask for money up front for medical treatment."
