Car Servicing

Ok... here is my latest dilemma.

My car is due a service. I bought it just over 18 months ago and I'm sure with new cars you should get them serviced every 18months :? Anyway I've been putting this off because I've been skint, plus saving to go away etc etc. Now my Dad is saying I should get the car serviced before I go, because if you don't get it serviced within a certain amount of months after buying the car it can affect the warranty?

I just dont see the point of getting it serviced when it wont be used for six months. Can't I just get it serviced when I get back? :? It's a couple of hundred quid I could really use when I'm away!

Normally cars need servicing every 12 months or 12000 miles which ever comes first. You may find that there is a clause in the Warranty that states that the car has to be serviced every year to remain valid

read the service manual. it should tell you when the manufacturers recommended service intervals are, and are usually based on miles done.

But is it really necessary to have one? I mean, will it matter if I have one after two years?

it isn't necessary to have it serviced, depends on how much you care about the car. So I would say just leave it

now you just have to worry about it when we return:)

ps I booked appointment tomorrow, feel like I'm having more injections than Pete Docherty at the moment:evil:

No doubt you'll be moaning about them for at least two days afterwards as usual  Honestly, I had two more yesterday and I feel fit as a fiddle!

 I thought I'd opened the second life thread and was thinking, "Christ Bec's turning into a proper geek going this far into her character isn't she?"
