Hi, friends of mine are trying to hire a car in Ibiza for the week 5 - 12 August and apparantly there are none left :cry: Are there any lesser known car hire companies in Ibiza who could still have cars available? I think they have tried doyouspain,motoluis,carjet.hispacar.,europcar,CENTAURO RENT A CAR

try amigoutos.com i am trying to think of one in playa den bossa.that picks you up from airport,then you drop him off and the car is yours..vs.

i booked one a couple of weeks ago with hertz and it was surprisingly cheap. theres a samll one called pepe cars or something like that. best thing is to do a search on the internet

Oh well, I 've seen plenty of threads which say how excellent the bus services are so I am sure they will be fine.

thing is cars may have been booked up from airport to airport,but i bet they are not fully booked in resort?... so give that a try when you get there asap.

Poor Rentals

The Association for Rent-a-Cars on the island stated last week that the month of August will be the only month in which most companies will rent their entire fleets.

Although it was predicted that during July all of the cars would also be rented every day, it did not turn out as planned, and the average rental for the month was a disappointing 80 per cent.
This, added to the poor months of May and June, left most companies facing the prospect of losses for the season or merely breaking even.

A spokesman for the association lamented that like most businesses on the island, the season was dictated by the club culture on the island, and that highs and lows were very much based around the opening and closing of the clubs.
