Car hire with 2 baby / toddler seats

Hi,
We are looking to hire a car for a week in late May from the airport.

We have 2 children one is 2yrs old and the other will be 8months so we will need to hire baby / toddler seats too.

Dose anyone have any recommendations or warnings?

Thanks!

Hi Pete.

I've hired cars and kids seats in the passed and I have to say they can be bloody disgusting. I'd try Avis or Hertz etc.

Makes my belly churn thinking about the one we got in Costa Brava.

What do you need a car for. Ibiza's a small island.

I book through these days. Excellent service and cheapest prices around. Centauro is normally the provider I get/ask for and again I have had no problems with them.

You can choose what car seats you decide to take, there is a room that has a selection and I just took my pick when collecting the car. Sure, they are used but I didn't find them to be dirty or unsafe at all.

A point to note, Centauro recently lost their office/ in the arrival halls of the airport in the auctions for leasing that space. Instead, an agent will meet you and fill out the paperwork with you and you can still collect the car from the multi-storey next to the airport.

Is this the cheapest 'on airport' hire company Grego?

I recently booked a car from BK car rental for the summer for a third of the cost of Centauro but have just found out they are based in San Jordi 5km outside the airport so you have to be bused to and from the depot, maybes thats why they were cheap!!:x

do you know of any other car hire companies that are based either right on the airport on just over the road?:)...cheers

Many thanks for that bit of info - I have booked a car from Centauro on my last dozen visits and always found them to be fair and reliable - except once when we had a full and frank discussion as to whether there had been a warning triangle in the boot when I had collected it. I won the arguement when I volunteered to be strip searched to see if he could find it secreted about my person

basically, hispacar and carjet and those types bulk buy cars from hiper rent/centauro/hertz, etc and then sell them on to us at a lower rate than you could get by going direct.

well that's the theory anyway. in practice, it normally works ok, i tend to check a few places when booking but hispacar has always been cheaper.

Depending on flight times, money saved, etc....being sent on a bus to get your car isn't so bad. Hiper Rent (the big one across the road from the airport) still has to minibus customers to their offices.

check here www.aena.es for an airport map of ibiza which should the rental companies.

Hired a car once and thought it was a pure waste of time. Use the buses or taxi's especially if you want to be legal and have a few drinks etc.

Clearly you don't have children or you wouldn't have made such a ridiculous statement....

A 2 year old and an 8 Month on buses and taxis which do not have child seats?!

:spank:

I used Hertz in 06 and again they had a room with the seats in that you could pick the best one (early in the season thay are ok but later on then yes they are showing signs of use!)

Hertz had new cars, are in the airport complex and were competitive for the 2 weeks. (My lad was 14 Months at the time). For the £20 or £30 difference it wasn't worth messing about...

Obviously you came to Ibiza and only saw the inside of bars and clubs and had no interest in the beauty of the island; the hills, the beaches, the beautiful bays and villages. Shame, you are missing out big time.

Maybe when you are older heh?
