Car hire prices now dropping

Earlier this year I was being quote over £300 for 8 days car hire for the last week in August. Now it looks like Alamo has seen the light and have dropped their prices to a reasonable £140 :)


BTW prices on the sites mentioned on here are very high does Ibiza Spotlight get a kick back?
 
That's a good deal.

I booked 2 weeks ago and I got 230 euros for 10.5 days. So a couple of euros more per day.

Which model is that? I got a 5-door economy with a/c (like a Ford Fiesta or Peugeot 308 )
 
Has anyone used Alamo before and can recommend them?

I have booked through Economycarhire this year, and only after completing the booking did I find out they use Auriga Crown.

Looking up reviews on this company it is nearly all bad news, so I'm considering cancelling and going with someone else.

Which company do Alamo use locally in Ibiza, or does it differ?

I booked my car about 4 months ago thru www.amigoautos.com & www.doyouspain.com (both use BK Rent A Car).
For 10 days (3/8/10 - 13/8/10) it cost me around 400 Euros.
Now the prices on those websites for my dates are even higher!

I checked both of your suggestions above (Alamon & Economycarhire) and they have no cars available for my dates.

Any suggestion for cheaper websites with available cars for 3-13/8/10 ?

I usually check each of the following:
carjet.com
hispacar.com
arguscarhire.com

And take whichever one is cheapest for the car I want

I booked through Argus this time. Got assigned a car from Alamo
But I don't see anything cheaper on there for your dates.
