Car Hire - on the day?

Elo everyone. Question - We will probably hire a car for one day. Do they tend to 'sell out' or massively put their prices up when there , making is sensible to book in advance - or is it best to just tip up?

Think it depends on the time of year, we've booked ours in advance for the last 3 years, have tried to do it on the day and while I don't know if it's more expensive you are left with what is available, that might be a very cheap Micra but it could be a very expensive convertable! Hit and miss really, best to book in advance but then you are tied to using that day rather than freestyling it!

This time of year - its fine - its mid July to back end of August that we have struggled.....
 
look out for the 3day deals they do.works out cheaper and better than just one day.more time to drive round.if just hire for one day make it has late as you can say 8pm ish.no good having it at say 9am.
 
cheers chaps - yes, will only be getting it from midday to middnight on our non clubbing day night i reckon. i'll get it in advance i think - dont want to end up with a hummer!
