Car hire firm in trouble?

Had an email suggesting one of the largest car hire firms in Spain is about to go under. Has anyone heard the same or has any information on this?

Thought it might have been Atesa (National) but their booking system is still live so probably not

Not sure, jimmiz. The email originated from one of the comparison sites suggesting there will be a huge reduction in the number of hire cars available over the summer (Spain in general) if the rumours are true of one of the biggest operators going under. We are looking to book for April but will wait to see what happens.

Max 18 months investigation period .. surely findings will take ages to have any commercial consequences ?

Hope it's not Centauro too .. always rent from them in Barcelona - great cars and very good service.

yep,i never had problem with them in Ibiza,i rented a lot of time with

There is a rumour that a car hire company her, on Mallorca, is involved with this same situation. Not sure of the name but probably linked.
