Car from another UE country

i'm planning to move to Ibiza with my girlfriend,
Does anybody know how it work for the car?
I mean i will take my car from Italy and i've heard i should make spanish plate after 6 months there.
Is it right?
any infos is welcome :)

You "Should" change to Spanish plates after 6 months, but it depends if you get stopped by the Guardia,
If not, many people carry on until they are stopped, then you have to get it done in a month, If you are moving here permanently, you can use an allowance in the first 6 months so you do not pay as much import duty & IVA,
If you leave it on non Spanish plates you do not have to worry about parking/ speed camera fines :)

Thanks a lot Blackswan555, but how can they know from how many months i'm there??
I also heard that they can't do nothing to you if the car is headed from another name. Is it true?
