Car / 4x4 hire

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a nice summer so far. I'm coming to Ibiza again on 2nd September.

I'm trying to find a website where I can hire a 4x4 or something that can tackle the pot holes better than an opel corsa. Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thank you
Ed

Lots of places hire 4x4s. Try http://www.motoluis.com/en/index.php for example. You can even hire a Hummer from a couple of places although the island could do with these like a big hole in the road. (And thanks to the Matutes family we've got more than enough of those.)

I should also say that I drive a Corsa and haven't really found anywhere on the island that I can't get that a 4x4 could. That said, I've seen a lot of the Panda 4x4 diesels around this summer and those are agile enough to get you anywhere a Land Rover will go and small enough to park in one parking space.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, think I'll just go for the corsa/clio or whatever is available. Never hired a car before and have heard lots of horror stories about getting charged loads on your credit card when you get back. Can you pay in cash to avoid this?

I've hired cars once, twice, three times a year for 18years and never had a problem - choose a dealer like HolidayAutos, Avis, Onairporthire, Centauro even Carjet, Hertz, Betacar or Hyper rent and you should have no trouble at all but seriously consider taking out an advance insurance for damage waiver as you can get stung for high reair costs if you are unfortunate enough to get the car damaged

I hired a car in May from the AVIS in the airport. A corsa. I took out the extra insurance (well recamended). The corsa was good on roads but not to good on tracks to beach. I took the car back with bad clutch and exhast blowing . With roads like that they now the cars are going to get some hammer. So take the extra insurance or be prepared to pay the price.
