from lost weekend
"Ibiza still has a reputation for being a party island, where hedonism is the rule of the day to the extent that you know you'll need another holiday immediately after you've landed on our own, fair isle. That reputation is a fair assement, even though the Ibiza dance scene is being overshadowed by regular indie rock concerts in place of the huge, factory like clubs of the mid '90s.
But it's not all sex, drugs and rock n' roll. Ibiza is full of charming towns that are only a few miles from major tourist resorts yet are seemingly untouched by the pulsing beat of their neighbours. To this day there are villages without proper road access or electricity.
If you fancy a bit of history, there's a myriad of medieaval European and Moorish castles, where Catholic crusaders and Islamic warriors fought to keep control of the island or you can stroll the coastline for one of many secluded beaches if you'd prefer something more relaxing."
another article from someone who's obviously never, ever been here.
