Can i work freelance on the beach?

hi people,

I would like to know if anyone can work freelance on the beaches in Ibiza.

I am a trained masseur and I'm coming to Ibiza this year for two months. I'm thinking about setting up a massage table on the beach, so that I could earn a little bit of spending money.

Do I need a permit or permission to do this?

Many thanks in advance for any helpful info

Cheers

there are people doing this already. I think you can only do this legally if

1. you're set up as an 'autonomo' (freelance worker) in spain and thus are paying social security and taxes OR are hired by a local company and are on their payroll
2. you get permission of some beachside local to do this on their premises (and they also have to have a license that they can offer something like that). then you'd have to share your income with them of course and point 1 is still a must.

doing it illegally...you can always try, but if you do it on a busy beach (which would make sense because there you'd have customers), the police would probably catch you very quickly.

Hi Stivi!

Ok, thanks very much for the info.

You pretty much just confirmed all the fears i had for this master plan.

Looks like i'll have to find another way around the bureaucracy!

Thanks again.
