Cameras in clubs

I know your not allowed cameras in Space but i was wondering if that is the policy for any of the other nightclubs???

I take my cam no one has said anything so far. is it legal or allowed who knows or cares?
 
I took my camera to Amnesia and Pacha.. no problems there.. I never attempted to take it to space.. even though loads of people have
 
The reason i ask is that i took mine to Space the last time i was there and i got it taken off me and lost the ticket to collect it, lucky it was only a disposible camera.
Got a half decent camera on my phone so might use that. Need to get some good pictures of Pacha, love the layout.

I took mine to manumission last year and they put you through a metal detector and the guy made me put it in the cloak room. Pain in the arse as you have to re-que. there where loads of camera's in already!

me too I had my digital and they checked it at the little shop thing..

Manumission and Space are a no no, Pacha, El Divino and Amnesia were good to go.
 
Amnesia has a definite no-camera policy (even a sign at the entrance), as does Space, but you can usually sneak one past if you really want to.

Pacha, El Divino and Penelope don't appear to care

not quite true morb........pacha may appear slightly more laid back but if a bouncer sees you taking a pic then they are likely to have a quiet word to say "don't do that, por favor". i've seen it happen a few times on each of the zillion times i've been there.

the reason they don't want cameras is mainly so that they can sell the 'official photos' taken by designated camera dudes in the clubs and secondly, they don't want any old snapper taking stunning pics of djs/crowd/club,etc - they want the copyright so that magazines, websites, etc have to pay the club for use of the official photos.

..........or so i've been told.;)
 
We took a disposable camera to Amnesia last year. Not much point really, our photo's were gash. Our theory was, at least if it gets taken, its just a crap camera. In Space I used my mobile, and there were scores of folk around doing the same. I even took a picture of the guy taking photo's and he never said nowt. El Divino don't care - the year before we were walkin about takin loads of photos at the closing party and nobody said nowt.
