Potentially moving to Cambridge in the very near future. Anyone familiar with the area know if there is a house/ techno scene?

I used to live Cambridge way before moving to the UAE, and it was quite difficult for me to find any decent nights to go to without heading into London (though that wasn't tooooo far, just had to sort hotels etc which is a pain.

Since I've left though, I've seen some better lineups in Cambridge and Newmarket, but nothing that'll blow your socks off.

If you do find anything though - keep us updated - as I'll be 'home' to visit every now and then!!

Thanks for the info Tiffany

There seems to be nothing on RA or even on the web for that matter but I'm sure there will be the odd party.. I'll keep you updated..

Ive lived in Cambridge the last year. There are the odd few nights that are good, Clive Henry was here recently and there is a new night called Day Release that do the occasional party Nu Disco/Deep house stuff that are worth checking out. London is only 45 mins on the train as well so we tend to still go out there mainly. I see from your profile you're 24... There is obviously a huge student population here and the usual bars etc. Haven't seen much in the way of Techno tho.

You can get a cab back to Cambridge for around £80 on Uber so if there are 4 of you its not a complete nightmare either.....

Just out of curiosity, do trains not run out of London through the night if you are going out in London from say Cambridge for example? I only ask because 45 minutes seems pretty close as I grew in Long Island (about 50 minutes from New York City) and we were always able to get home all hours through the night

Most of the trains etc stop from say 1am - 6am and then they ramp up into the normal day routine. Depending what kind of night you're heading too - 6am probably wont be a problem!!
