Cala Vadella?

I think this article is pretty old, the website you're referring to is hardly being updated anymore nowadays as far as I know.

Cala Vadella is a large residencial area with lots of houses and villas as well as apartments, and just a few hotels. I personally love the beach there and two of my favourite restaurants are on that very beach - Can Jaume and Maria Luisa. Can Jaume is open all year and we had a delicious Paella there a week ago. What Cala Vadella doesn't have is a center with shops etc, but there are enough restaurants and bars around and the beach is perfect if your friends have kids (the water's shallow for a bit which is great for kids).

The 'not so nice' part of Cala Vadella is that there are still some unfinished parts further up (away from the beach) and there is an unpleasant excavation further behind the beach, but I personally can't imagine this could spoil anyone's holiday.

Thanks stivi!

The other place she is looking at is Es Cana. How would that compare?

es canar is definitely more of a town (or shall I say village) with more of everything. more shops, more restaurants and bars. and while cala vadella is pretty steep, es canar is very flat. in es canar you get to see the sunrise, in cala vadella the sunset.

the main beach of es canar isn't the best IMO, but cala nova is very close (walking distance) and this one is another beauty of a beach...again shallow waters, lovely sandy beach. love it.

maria luisa still a great place to go for lunch or dinner :)

that's more or less the update I can give tbh!

I really want to check out Maria Luisa for lunch.
Is it so busy I need to reserve?

If I just turn up on my own for lunch one day, would this work?

I'd reserve if it's on a weekend day, else you should be fine I guess. we sometimes reserve and sometimes don't, but never had any problems so far

Thanks! :)

Do they have a bar seating area? Just thinking, If I'm on my own, sometimes they are apprehensive about giving away a 4 person table to one person, which I understand. If there is a bar seating area, then usually it's easy to get a spot when I'm on my own.
