bus issue Sta. Eularlia to the airport

I bought a ticket in Sta Eularlia from the booth, it says to the airport on it. The bus driver also said "Si" when I asked if it's going to the airport. Then guess what? The bus stopped in Ibiza town and asked again "Aerporto? " and the same driver said "no" and he pointed outside the bus. Did he change his mind or do some people consider anything within 6km of the airport as "arrived"?

Anyway I left the bus and a guy on the street pointed me to a bus stop. I got on the next bus which took me to the airport. The whole trip with both busses took an hour and a half, quite a lot longer than the schedule of 40 minutes, but it was evening and traffic was busy which is understandable. Here's the 2 tickets I bought. Is this normal in Ibiza or out of the ordinary? Is there a direct bus? The timetable suggests it is direct.

The blue ticket on the left was the first bus which I hoped would take me all the way. It came to town at 7.20pm... Surely Sta Eularlia doesn't have 2 buses headed to direction Ibiza / airport at the exact same time the schedule for the airport says?

No idea what number I got but I will start looking at numbers in future. I'm still confused why the driver would say yes airport and then change his mind in Ibiza town. Oh well.

Ive done the same when jumping in a taxi inFigueretas. I said Aeropeurto and he started heading towards Ibiza Town. I thought it was maybe the only route or one way but it transpired he thought i wanted him to take me to the port!

I think it was a case of both you and the driver not paying attention.
You had the right ticket from the booth, you must have got on the 13/18 bus (instead of 24) and the driver didn't look properly at your ticket, with the conversation being something like Phil described above.
Next time, just say airport. They understand.
