Once again we gathered, ushering in 2013 to co-create some inspirational sounds. Synchronous sonic threads weaved their way through London's grimy back streets into the bowels of Bethnal Green. A perfect mind meld with some spooky overlaps in our track choices…and everyone's favourite small, long armed monkey in the haus! (see blog photos)

One man show; miss
Grace Jones is featured artist this month and we wanted to avoid the obvious bumper/slave/rose cliches, instead kicking things off with Nipple to the Bottle. The deep, rolling bass lines and stabby lyrics, “You ain't gon get it, I ain't gon give it”; characterising everything we loved about her Compass Point era, winding down with a dub version of William's Blood; her most personal song to date.

What can we say about Grace? An artist and style icon who has always personified New York disco's flamboyance and hedonism. Total Goddess at 64 and still every bit the muse of Andy Warhol; legs towering right up to those iron cheek bones of hers (not to mention, human canvas for the legendary KEITH HARING *gush*). I've had the pleasure of attending more gigs than I dare admit; most notably at NYC's Underground Network at Crobar (yes I'm showing off). Oh and I've successfully completed 2 (TWO) successful stage invasions but we'll brush over that. ;)

This particularly acid inspired session takes a journey from some downtempo moods through to psychedelic rock, electroclash (Nag Nag Nag resident, Princess Julia - 48:55), hip hop and soul.

Watch out for standout pieces from French double bassist;
Henri Texier - 36:38,Prommer & Barck - 38:40 and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - 1:17:16 as well asMarianne Faithfull - 1:29:37, Brian Eno - 1:34:56, Bowie - 1:38:06, Shirley Bassey - 1:48:51 and Portuguese musical ensemble; Madreus - 1:26:31 (featuring an outstanding vocal performance from Teresa Salgueiro).

We're also honoured to have a couple of industry selections from
Señor Coconut and Mungolian Jetset (bless ‘em eh?).

Once again, this session isn't an easy listen - and we make no apologies. Get it in ya! xxx
