Over the past decade in Santa Eulalia it never ceases to amaze how many new apartment blocks are appearing. It feels like every tiny parcel of brownfield space is being built upon. What is more surprising, these are not affordable places, entry level the last time I looked was 500k, likely more now.
Travel outside of town a huge new complex is coming to life at S' Argamasa, an old beachside bar bit the dust to make way. In the same area, new villas have been appearing quick fast and other sites look primed for development. A few hundred yards away, another big apartment complex is starting as another has just completed.
The campo is not sacred, new luxury villas appearing wherever I run or walk, feels like a new one appearing on my regular run routes every month or two.
It seems like planning permission to build literally anywhere is not an issue?
