Amnesia are usually pretty strict with cameras. I had to put mine in the "safekeeping" for cameras a few years back. It was a canon ixus which was worth about £80 at the time. When i went to collect it at the end of the night the dopey girl gave me a disposable camera! She tried to pretend she didnt understand me when I said it was the wrong one. After ages arguing I managed to get her to get a Manager. They said they I had to wait until all other cameras were collected and the club was empty so they could check my camera wasnt in the club somewhere!! wtf was that about?? So we had to wait another hour and a half till 7am for all this to happen. I then had to wait to see the manager at the end ....then they made all of my friends wait outside cos the club had to be emptied. Considering I'm female and I was surrounded by burly blokes, this was quite intimidating but I stuck to my guns. Eventually they confirmed the disposable camera was the only one left. They said they would pay me Euros 150 (ok, I added abit on!) for my lost camera but only AFTER they had processed the pictures to make sure they were'nt mine. THey promised to drop off the money at my hotel the following day once they'd seen the pictures. guess what??? No money arrived - what a surprise. I wasnt giving in so I went up to Amnesia that night and was actually amazed when I was greeted at the door by the manager and ushered in and was paid for my camera. So in the end happy days but if I hadnt been so persistent they would have got away with it. I havent been back to Amnesia since.
