I think we're getting sidetracked here :P

Wondering what the girls and guys of spotlight think of this surgery.. I've seen it being done on telly I nearly yakked into my beef strogonof.

horses for courses I suppose, if a girl is unhappy enough with her body to go to such extreme measures then let her do it. I do think like a lot of things it's become more common and is more accessible and as a result more acceptable , ie 10 years ago it was relatively unheard of, except with celebs etc, but now women are getting them done like they go for a filling, it's just part of life I suppose. My ex had it done and to be fair i prefered her before, having said that, a girl who I was once with had very floppy boobs (spaniels ears) and I wouldve paid for her to have sommat done with them  But as I said, if thats what they want then, let them get on with it ;)

I think it's a sad commentary on the priorities we've created for ourselves and the collective psychosis we've created about our bodies. :?

Go with what you've got, I say... unless you've been in a horrible accident or lost something to illness or injury, I'm generally against plastic surgery of any kind.

Phil, I think you'll find that there are positive benefits to be had by playing the sport of your choice on a major thoroughfare. Sport is a vital component of a healthy lifestyle, improving cardiovascular health and strengthening bones and muscles so as to prevent avoidable injuries later in life. Might I suggest that you begin your new, healthier lifestyle today, perhaps by kicking a ball around on the nearest high-speed motorway in the hours immediately following the close of business this evening?

I was a huge advocate of plastic surgery (shallow cow that I am  ) I used to have a plastic surgery fund (25k and growing) until 3 years ago, but I unselfishly sacrificed it in the name of setting up a business and using the money I had set aside for cosmetic surgery as capital.

Now, at the age of 40, I am really comfortable with myself as a person (inside and outside) and probably wouldnt go down that road now, (other than a touch of botox or restylan). I certainly wouldnt want invasive surgery, one reason being that I dont trust the level of cleanliness in hospitals, and the thought of going for an operation that isnt wholly necessary to my existance and there being a significant chance of catching MRSA or some other infection is far too scary an option.

Having said that, I have no problems with anyone else having cosmetic surgery, its a personal choice.

Ask me again when I am knocking on the door of 45 and I may have changed my mind ;)

Breast aren't fully developed till 21 or so.

My colleague has one breast implant - her father beat her so badly when she was growing up, only one breast developed, at 17 she had to have an implant put in place...... How horrible is that?? :? :? :?

Uh! A trauma for life :?

But the problem is that if you are under 20 and you get breast implant you have a very high possibility to have problems. IMO the problem is not young girls asking for this, the problem is parents paying for that and professionals doing it

She's 30 now and the only problem so far related with the implant is that she was unable to breastfeed her 2 children. This was due to the operation taking place a long time ago, back in those days they quite happily cut through the ducts that would feed the milk to the nipple area - that really upset her - she felt less of a mother apparently. So sad....

Completely agree :D

I think it's a sad reflection on society that people are expected to conform to a certain stereotype which for the majority of the population is unrealistic. I'm reading a book which touches on it at the mo and it says things like 'where is our obsession with plastic surgery going to end, in 20 years if you don't fit this 'ideal' mould are you going to be arrested and charged with 'crimes against vanity'

Yay there's things I wish were different about me but by and large I'm happy with what I've got. When you see poor ppl who are born with huge disfigurements or have terrible accidents etc it makes you realise how shallow some people are who are ungoing massive surgery just for vanities sake when these other ppl are probably just glad to be alive regardless of their disfigurements.
