Breakbeat in Ibiza???

Hi there :)

Some friends and I are coming to Ibiza for a weekend in May. I haven't been since 2009 so am probably way out of touch. We do love a proper heavy baseline, but I can't seem to find anywhere that plays that sort of stuff nowadays. Breakbeat seems to be out of fashion at the mo, the dance scene seems to have moved on without me!

Any advice RE. where to find something basey and interesting on Ibiza would be much appreciated.

proper breakbeat is really hard to find on the island right now. especially in may :(

any of the san an specialist know any bars that might play the broken beats?

Anyone remember Nic Fancuilli's brother Mark playing it, and Leroy Prodigy, in mid 2000s?
 
Thanks for the reply :) yes, breakbeat seems to be in short supply. All the djs I love seem to be playing SE Asia, Australia, NZ, etc. I find it hard to find anything with a decent baseline that actually goes somewhere nowadays :(
 
Last time I was in Ibiza we saw The Freestylers play an incredible breaks set in Eden. As Stivi says, maybe we are just coming too early in the season.
 
there was always a festival happening yeah, sunbeatz. that's breakbeat, jungle & d'n'b. they're doing it in mallorca this year though (heatwave), 8th to 13th september.
