Anyone ever seen Boy George?

He will be playing in houston next friday and I don't know if I should go or not.

I have heard he isn't bad.....

Should I go?

We just saw him in Chicago on Friday. Really a cool night -- he played pretty much every major genre of music, from disco house to prog to harder stuff.
A good night. The crowd was really really random though... Not that that's bad...

He used to play some of the early Gatecrasher's when it was at the Arches (in Sheffield) and was pretty good back then.

I've also heard him play some pretty dire sets too.

:?

he was always famous for playing reasonable tunes whilst mixing very badly - dunno if he's improved now.

heard him a couple of times in Ibiza tho, and he was OK...

I've seen him twice...

The first time was at a club in Folkestone, Kent at a bank holiday all nighter. He was playing a wicked set and part of the lighting rig fell down onto his head - luckily he had on one of his trademark massive hats!

The second time was at a Club Class night @ Icon Maidstone Kent and I was really unimpressed by his choice of tunes to be honest.

Does he still DJ 8O

He used to play out loads in my early rave days in the early 90s, he was very hit and miss then, you never knew what you were getting with him, I wouldn't go out my way to see him these days, he's another of those old dinosaurs in the vein of Healy and co who should hang up their DJ shoes

Healy played a blinding set at Moneypennys in Brum the other week, the club was packed and his eclectic blend was very well recieved... :D

Just goes to show that there's life in the old dog yet! ;)

Yeah one of my friends went and she was pleasantly surprised by him as well 8O

It's the return of the old warhorse DJs 8O

hmm, I dug out an old Jeremy Heally tape from 'Up yer ronson' last night, somehow I don't reckon old Jezza would get away with dropping 'wonderwall' and 'u2' in his sets these days... :D

seen him in Dublin, recently, was good, a good entertainer, and a perfect antidote to the 'serious DJ pose'!

heard a funny one about Boy George: when he was playing in some club, it took him so long to mix in a record, that the record that was playing ran out. What did he do? he caught the needle and put back on the same record about mid-way through it..hilarious. anyone else heard this?

No, but he knocked my girlfriend flying down the stairs in the Arches (Sheffield) a few years ago.

Accident of course :?

Someone told me they saw Boy George and he was playing house tunes then out of no where he dropped 'Mauro Picotto - Lizard' 8O

With George Acosta you're going to get lots of trance.

Jeremy Healey was without doubt one of the worst DJ's I have ever seen.

From the worst selection of cheese to the worst mixing I really regretted that night in Cream many years ago.

Thank god he doesnt play any more !!
