Boy George

Good morning, Babs.

George's life has been one big long rollercoaster, hasn't it? From the heights (ahem) of Culture Club to his heroin-fuelled fall to rising DJ (remembers From Russia with Love closing party at El Divino in 2001) to club outcast and now this...

Good morning to you young man :D Are you in London Town yet??

I'm a big fan of Boy George, his Take it Like a Man autobiography is such a good read. Him taking cocaine isn't a shock, I just wonder when this police obsession with arresting celebs for taking cocaine is going to end

We fly in on Friday, so still 6 days to go :?

Scary secret held for many years and revealed in Ibiza Spotlight shocker:

Culture Club was my first concert.

Would be cool if we were... catch NDSM and F*** Me I'm Famous, but alas, we'll miss the former.

I'll never forget that show... it was at the Capital Center just outside DC. My friend's father drove us there and waited outside! I think we won the tickets in a radio station contest. Those were the days, eh?

BBC site said he had "an 1/8 which is 5g" :?

Nice to see they can't even get their metric/imperial conversions right

Update: Apparently police found the stash when they responded to a 911 call he made to report a fake burglary of his apartment :?

I just thought the NYPD as with the Metropolitan Police would have more pressing matters to deal with at the mo. New York was put on a high state of terror alert yesterday, London is still recovering from the attacks on 7 July and the Met police are being investigated about the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes...... yet they seem more concerned with cracking down on coke use amongst celebrities etc, I for one know where I'd rather the police concentrated their efforts

Sarah, did you watch the documentary about Kate Moss on Sky 1?

Cant believe the big deal thats been made about all these Coke allegations. Fair enough, its illegal. But who in Fashion, Media, Music Industry or any city in the world doesnt do Coke?!! :? ;)

I thought the prog showed the likes of Chanel/Burberry etc as the hypocrites they are, they (like virutally everyone else) knew that the likes of Kate Moss etc took drugs but chose to turn a blind eye......it was only when they thought it was detrimental to their brand and image that they binned her, double standards me thinks

I think Le Moss will bounce back from that (she's already on the front of very influential W magazine and they're backing her) and it's the companies who binned her who will prob suffer more in the long-term as opposed to Rimmel who've stuck by her.

Completey agree, its all very hypocitical  Everyone (or they should), knows what that industry is like, there is no way that the first 5 pages of every newspaper should devote all thir time to it :?

Question: Being in Marketing yourself, what would you have done if you were one of these brands PR managers?

Fergie, it's 11pm on a Saturday night and you're expecting me to think about work 8O 8O  ;)

My personal opinion is that Kate Moss is bigger than any of the brands that dropped her and if they hadn't acted with the knee-jerk reaction that they did and waited for the storm to calm down then they'd have looked a lot better in the long-run. Everyone knows the fashion industry (like so many other industries) is awash with drugs, their actions just stink of hypocrisy to me. If I actually bought anything from Chanel or Burberry I'd boycott them now

I think Rimmel took the right course of action, issue-ing a statement saying they were sticking by her for now, especially seeing how the media has turned (yet again) and it's now 'good old Kate getting yourself sorted in rehab'

Im just trying to get some conversation seeing that im so bored staying in  ;)

Agree again, its like its a big shock what these people do  Even in a place like up here (Aberdeen), I honestly dont really know of anyone who doesnt 'indulge'

Whole thing cries of hypocrisy

Go Kate and George  :P

Nothing like a bit of intellectual conversation on a Saturday night 8O  ;)

Even more hypocritical is the media banging on about it, I worked in Advertising/Media for 2 years and I've never met such a load of caners in my life, I'd be taken out for lunch and before you'd even ordered, people you barely know would be passing a gram to you under the table, and yet these are the ppl who are 'Mr/Ms high and mighty' now

Thats exactly what I thought it would be like. Guess they just do it to make an example of them...not fair at all

Contentious thought: Alcohol is far worse than '****' ;) Well, on me anyway

Yes but the government get taxes from alcohol  I'm sure if they could legalise drugs and get away with getting 80% in taxes from us as they do with cigarettes then before you know it we'd be buying our wkend medication from Tescos

I'll be the first to admit I can be a twat on alcohol, but the nicest guy in the world on anything else  ;)

Still, I'm VERY up for tax-free fun, some things cost enough as it is ;)
