Hi
I will be going to Ibiza for the first time in april and really want to avoid the whole clubscene. i will be staying in Figueretas

Can anyone let me know if there is anywhere in Ibiza to go rock climbing or bouldering - it will need to be somewhere i can get to from Figueretas by public transport/ taxi.

Thanks!

Any other tips about quiet beaches beautiful beaches to vist by public transport would be great too

avoiding the whole club scene is a doddle - even in august! in april it's even easier because there's not a single crested person to be found in ibiza.

april is a great time to visit to practise sports and outdoor activities though i think that you won't find many climbing (not sure what bouldering is) opportunities if you rely on public transport.

i know people do go climbing in ibiza as i've seen them dangling from ropes on the precipitous cliffs over atlantis. there are also lots of other places which to my untutored eye would seem ideal to do this, however, as you would expect, they're off the beaten public transport track.

you'll find that you can get to most places (population centres)on the island by bus from figueretas (usually via ibiza) but the summer service which is more frequent only kicks in may and june.

as for quiet beaches - they all will be in april - even the likes of las salinas will only be dotted with a few people.

enjoy it.

further to what stephen has said.

you will also find that ibiza is a very hilly island with some relatively high peaks on the island considering the island's smallish size.

if you don't mind walking a bit then many of higher peaks can be reached using public transport. Sa Talaia is the highest point in Ibiza and it can be its base can be reached from the town of San José, to which there is a regular bus service from Ibiza Town.

I know you mentioned public transport but if at all possible I would strongly advise hiring a car, even if its just for a few days.

Whilst there are beaches located virtually around the circumference of the whole island, in addition there are many coves, inlets, etc that act as the perfect secluded beach get away. Moreover, some of Ibiza's more famous beaches will not be busy in April.

If you are wanting to find the real Balearic beach experience, then catch a ferry from Ibiza town to formentera, which has miles and miles of beach space and is an island that operates at a much more relaxed pace than ibiza.

Enjoy!!
