Hi all,

Thought I'd start a discussion on Booom

Never visited BOOOM last year but by all accounts it's season didn't look very great.

In 2013 there was a lot of Rumours about Morillo and Steve Angello hosting residencies which never happened.
And now this for the 2014 season with Vagabundos and Sexy By Nature leaving the club, how can we see this season panning out? Or even the club surviving till September?

I have seen that Danny Whittle has now joined the Sankeys team? Will he have anything to do with Booom anymore?

I'm still scratching my head at why Defected want to be based at the club?

So what can we expect from Booom for the 2014 season?
 
well, so far two residencies have been announced, defected and suara. they have more nights confirmed which should be announced soon and as far as I know they're also still in talks with a few potential ones.

as for danny whittle, he stopped running booom already late last summer.

hmmm. i think it's a venue that's got potential. last year, to me personally, it just looked and felt sort of 'unfinished'. but as it's not a huge place, it really could be a good venue for midsize parties. i've never made a secret out of the fact i don't like the whole vip thing generally and i think they shouldn't focus on this.

i for one am pretty curious to see what will happen this summer. the things they've got lined up should be pretty decent; if they get the line ups and don't undergo any further legal issues, it could work out decently. but let's not forget it's ibiza after all. let's take the suara example; it's a label i really expected to pop up in ibiza this summer, they're on a great run currently. but they do wednesdays and will go up against tribal sessions and paradise - not an easy task...
 
Also, Defected are up against Coxy on a Tuesday! Again, not an easy task. However, I went to Defected 15 at Oval Space in London last week (Noir, Guti etc), and it was a pretty outstanding party, so I may give them and Booom another go!

However, Defected's slight challenge may be that other people are getting really good at being Defected! If you want a good house / tech-house night, Insane @ Pacha, Ibiza Rocks House @ Pacha, Tribal Sessions etc. so they may get even more squeezed in a mid-week slot....
 
I liked the club ... I was there for sexy by nature and defected. Both nights were very good musically. But the problem as stivi said, not a lot of place to sit down with the exception of the outside courtyard where all the people hang out and smoke , talk and check their facebook. Lol if you really want to sit down you have to get a vip booth. The dancers are gorgeous, the music is good (very house driven). And the space is mid-sized. But the crowd the nights i was there were really into it! Especially the sexy by nature night. Which is one of their best nights. I think it is a good little club, but it does lack something special. Maybe they will get a huge following for one of the new nights and it will create a "special" atmosphere unique to the club.
 
Surprised no one has mentioned how poor the sound quality is. Very loud, but no punch and everything sounds like a rumble.

There is one way in and out and apart from that it is a box.

Sorry, wasn't a fan of the venue at all.

Are we talking poor for Ibiza? Or poor by any clubs standards?
 
I am a visual guy, lol, the nights that I was there the sound was good in my opinion. Even for the sexy by nature night in which they really do go all out - the show was good. Seriously, no complains from my perspective the night that I was there. However it is boxy, but the palm trees outside are cool and everyone lets a bit lose and they at least talk. The problem with the club is that it caters to v.i.p too much. There are other exits, through the courtyard. However the one that is mainly used is the one main one. Same thing that Pacha does.

You either have a really poor grasp of English, are very ignorant or were born on a farm. Which one is it?
