is there just a deposit and then pay the rest off as the holiday gets closer? same as the travel agents like. or do you pay the whole thing off there an then?

spotlight has saved me with the hotel mularky here :)

It varies depending on site - if you book thru this site you pay a deposit when you book and then the balance on arrival.

Some sites (eg expedia) you pay it all at time of booking.
