After 15 years of production and 8 years of pushing records through their infamous label Get Physical, Booka Shade arrive back in the UK with a bang. The duos 'More' album hit the shelves in June and to celebrate the success of their full length they are back in Leeds for only the third time. o2 Academy Leeds, fresh off the back of their 2nd birthday host the album soiree with heavyweight support from local figureheads 2020Soundsystem and fellow German Vinyl enthusiast Motor City Drum Ensemble.
Walter and Arno over the years have poured their heart and soul into their live performances as Booka Shade throughout the world of electronic music. 2010 marks their 15th year off production and marking only the third time in the West Yorkshire city. Leeds has been a great city for the pair with their previous outings etched into the local dance history books. Back in 2005, they hit The Dirty Disco for a Get Physical showcase, arguably DD's best ever party. When they returned back in 2008 the results were just as good, packing out the Stylus venue at Leeds University.
2020Soundsystem also dont need much of an introduction, touring the globe for the past two years. The foursome, based in Leeds have also had a great year with their album 'Falling'. 2009 saw the group flourish through the festivals and gain global status among us dance lovers. With their illustrious track 'Slide Away' sure to be played on the main stage. This will be a great introduction for Booka Shade.
Support comes from Motor City Drum Ensemble. The German producer has also been busy over the last year, with his Raw Cuts series paving the way for a busy touring schedule. The artist who insists that Vinyl is the only way forward, will attract the deep house followers out there in their droves. Taking his influences from the Detroit and Chicago scenes respectfully, he brings the 90s edge on the modern house vibe. With that said, hes quickly becoming one of the most talked about artists on the roster.
