Boat party

Right guys need your expert advice please…

Playing on a boat party that is an ice breaker for a wedding so there will be family around etc and need to cater for varied tastes. Can't bang out house all day but will play some later. Anyone got any suggestions for tunes to play? Been racking my brains but need some guidance. Want to keep it pretty cool/clued up and throw some balearic bits in there. All suggestions appreciated.

Just kidding. Stick to some soft 80s pop/rock. Then a few livelier numbers later. Tunes that everyone will know. Some Eurodance tunes. Then can get a bit more adventurous later when everyone is blotto.
 
As a compromise i'd go for a lot of disco eg chilly 'for your love' , todd terje reedit of chic, ELO - last train to london then maybe some balearic classics like elkin & nelson jibaro, doobie brothers long train running, escape from new york fire in my heart, wings goodnight tonight, maybe throw in some jacko or early madonna but use sparingly then a bit of moroder that people can relate to eg i feel love cut up with the boris duglosh mix of sing it back, the arthur baker mix of fleetwood mac big love tends to bridge the cool/pop divide, also blue monday, yello the race is good fun although the full version might clear the place! If you want to be cheeky, billy idol white wedding, ub40 rat in mi kitchen, musical youth pass the dutchie, madness - nightboat to cairo, and depending on yr/their sense of humour the john cooper clarke i married a monster from outer space remix

Thanks mate, really helpful! Grabbed a few of those this morning. Only one I would like to get but tricky finding is the Fingerman Fatback Band one. Anyone got it?
